Pricing & Booking

How much does Canine Carpool cost?

Transportation pricing is based on the distance between The Doghouse School and the pickup or drop-off location.

Is Carpool priced one-way or round-trip?

Daycare transportation: For daycare reservations, Carpool pricing includes both morning pickup and afternoon drop-off. If only one-way transportation is needed, the rate remains the same as round-trip daycare transportation.

Boarding transportation: For boarding reservations, Carpool is charged per trip. Because boarding pickup and drop-off typically occur on different days, round-trip boarding transportation requires two separate Carpool reservations and is charged as two one-way trips.

Why can’t I book Carpool online?

Transportation space is limited and may occasionally reach capacity.

If Carpool appears unavailable online, please contact our team. In some cases, one-way transportation may still be available even when round-trip transportation is fully booked.

We will always do our best to accommodate transportation requests whenever possible.

What hours does the bus operate?

Canine Carpool operates on weekdays only.

  • Morning route: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon route: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Preferred pickup and drop-off times may be requested during booking, but exact times are not guaranteed.

How do I provide pickup, drop-off, or timing instructions?

Please include any special instructions in your booking notes before checkout. This may include:

  • Preferred pickup or drop-off times
  • Alternate pickup or drop-off addresses
  • Gate codes or entry instructions
  • Home access information
  • Special handling instructions
  • Requests for ETA notifications

For ongoing or permanent instructions, please contact our team so we can add them to your account notes.

How will I know when the bus is coming?

You will receive an automated notification when the route begins.

You may also request an ETA update in your booking notes. When possible, a driver may contact you by text or phone during the route.

Because traffic, weather, rider changes, and route adjustments can affect timing, exact arrival times cannot be guaranteed.

Can my dog be picked up from or dropped off at another location?

Yes. Transportation may be provided to or from an alternate residential address, such as a friend’s home, family member’s home, pet sitter’s address, or vacation home.

All parties must be aware of the arrangement, and complete pickup, drop-off, and access information must be included during booking.

For safety reasons, transportation is generally limited to residential locations where dogs can be safely transferred directly between the home and the bus. Non-residential locations may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but they must allow for a safe handoff by a responsible adult. High-traffic, public, or otherwise unsafe locations may not be approved.

If no alternate address is provided, we will use the address listed on your account.

Additional fees may apply if rerouting is required due to incorrect, incomplete, or missing information.

What if I won’t be home?

Please provide alternative access instructions and notify us as soon as possible.

If alternative access is unavailable, additional fees may apply for cancellations, rescheduling, return trips, or rerouting. Please refer to the Service Agreement on your account for complete details.

Safety & Fit

Do dogs wear seat belts?

Yes. All riders are safely secured using vehicle safety restraints attached to properly fitted harnesses.

If your pup arrives wearing an appropriate harness, we may use it. Otherwise, we provide transportation harnesses in a variety of sizes.

Our goal is to keep every rider safe, secure, and comfortable throughout the trip.

What safety measures are in place?

Safety is our highest priority. Our Canine Carpool service includes:

  • Licensed adult drivers only
  • Commercially insured transportation
  • Dogs safely secured during transport
  • Climate-controlled vehicle with heating and air conditioning
  • Supplemental seat fans available as needed
  • Water available for hydration as needed
  • Secure, locked vehicle during operation
  • Routine vehicle inspections and maintenance
  • No fueling while dogs are onboard
  • GPS monitoring and tracking device
  • Secured key storage for any keys in our possession

For the comfort and safety of all riders, some dogs may be assigned specific seating arrangements or adjusted pickup/drop-off order based on their individual needs.

Who may not be a good fit for Carpool?

While we do our best to accommodate a variety of personalities and needs, Canine Carpool may not be suitable for dogs with:

  • Severe motion sickness
  • Extreme separation anxiety
  • Escape behaviors
  • Aggression or safety concerns
  • Destructive chewing behaviors

Our team will help determine whether transportation is a safe and appropriate fit for your pup.

Lost & Found

What if an item was left on the bus or at the facility?

Please notify our team as soon as possible.

We will help investigate and keep you updated. Once located, items may be picked up at the facility or returned during your pup’s next visit.
