FRESHMAN ORIENTATION

  • Freshman Orientations are our version of temperament tests. We want to ensure that each kid who attends our school is in an environment that best fits their temperament and play style.

    On this day, we get to know your kid(s) and see how they play with other dogs. They also go home with personalized school gear! Don't forget to bring your school gear back with you when you come for your next appointment.

    *All dogs must have attended a Freshman Orientation to book any of our services.

  • Vaccine Requirements

    We require each pupil to provide proof of up-to-date vaccines:

    • Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper/DHLPP.

    • We highly recommend Canine Influenza at this time.

    Currently, we do not require but highly recommend the Canine Influenza vaccine.

    The owner understands and agrees that it is their responsibility to verify current vaccinations regularly.

    We have the right to refuse care for any dog with expired vaccines and/or an obvious or harmful infection.

    Age Requirements

    Your dog must be at least 16 weeks old with all up-to-date required vaccinations to participate in our services. All final puppy vaccinations must be complete.

    We do accept Senior Pups as well. It‘s great for healthy dogs of all ages to get mental stimulation and socialization.

    • If your dog is over the age of 5 years old or we recognize them to have health concerns, we might ask you to sign a senior pup health waiver.

    • Senior pets naturally have a higher risk of injury, stress-related illness, or exacerbation of any pre-existing condition. By bringing your senior pet for any of our services, you are waiving any claim for injury or illness experienced by your pet while in our care, and that is not directly caused by the negligence or lack of care on the part of our staff.

    Spay/Neuter Requirements

    We do not require spay or neuter.

    We do not accept females who are near or in heat.

    What To Wear

    We require all students to wear a properly fitted collar + name tag when attending.

    What To Bring

    • You can bring your own food and medications.

    Instagram Updates

    You will receive updates throughout the day via our Instagram and Facebook stories. You may provide us with an Instagram handle to tag so you are notified of updates.

    Returning Clients

    If your dog hasn’t attended an appointment in over one year, they must re-enroll for another Freshman Orientation. You will have to pay the $5 appointment cost again.

    SATURDAY: 4 pm - 6 pm

    • Please pick up on time to avoid fees.

DAYCARE

  • RECESS

    When out in recess, our Doghouse Pupils can chill out under the misters (or heaters), go swimming in the pools, dig in the mulch box, or play tag in the big back yard!

    SCHOOL GEAR

    Each kid at the Doghouse School will receive a school bag with their name on it, a journal, and a folder.

    • They receive these items to help bring out their personalities, as each is special to that particular pupil!

    • If your dog’s school gear needs to be replaced at any time, feel free to let one of our front desk attendants know + include a note when booking online!

    ARTS & CRAFTS

    Our pupils participate in paw art activities and homework assignments, which we send home in their folders. They also earn badges on their school bags, like Boy/Girl Scouts!

    JOURNALS

    We help our pupils fill their journals with entries about their day, special announcements, and any updates their teachers feel their parents should know about. Sometimes, you may find a discount or coupon inside!

    FIELD TRIPS

    Somedays, we take the class on field trips in our Magic School Bus! We may visit historical landmarks around the city, drive through the Starbucks or Chick-fil-A line, or take a joyride around town. Field trip days are the best days.

    EVENTS

    Events at the Doghouse can be held for birthdays, gotcha days, or for no reason at all. Always look for upcoming events by checking out our Events Page!

    5-Day Package $36.50/day (Expiration: 30 days)

    *We do not offer packages for half-day appointments.

    **We are unable to extend package expiration dates for any reason.

  • Just like other industries, such as hotels and workout classes, you pay to hold your spot, whether you use it or not. Therefore, it is important we have specific cancellation policies in place.

    • Cancellations must be made 24 hours before the booking starts to receive a refund or credit.

      • Cancel before the 24-hour window = full refund or full credit.

      • Cancel within the 24-hour window = no refund.

      • No shows = no refund

    • To cancel your stay, you must email us to do so.

    • Any cancellation request done after our business hours will be considered as being received the next day.

  • Somedays, we have boarders who end up just staying for daycare. On other days, we have dogs who are with us for daycare but end up needing to board. Below are our policies for transferring appointment types.

    BOARDING —> DAYCARE

    If you are scheduled for boarding and instead stay for daycare that day, you do not get a refund or credit for the difference.

    DAYCARE —> BOARDING

    If you are scheduled for daycare and stay for boarding that night, you will be charged the difference in daycare and a night’s stay.

    • Peak Season Only: If this happens during peak season, we can't guarantee a spot. If we do have availability, you will be charged the full cost of one night of boarding in addition to your initial daycare cost.

  • Daycare Drop Off Windows:

    MONDAY – FRIDAY: 7 am - 9 am

    SATURDAY: 8 am - 11 am

    • Please arrive on time to avoid a late fee of $12.

    • Walk-in appointments are charged a $7 fee.

  • Daycare Pick Up Windows:

    MONDAY – FRIDAY: 4 pm - 6 pm

    SATURDAY: 4 pm - 6 pm

    Please pick up on time to avoid fees.

    • If your dog has not been picked up by 6 pm, you will incur the cost for 1 night of boarding + a $12 service fee.

  • Canine Carpool is priced per zone.

    • Each price is for one seat/one dog.

    • Each price is for a round-trip occurring on the same day.

    • If you take the bus to and from your boarding stay, you will be charged 2x the price of your zone since the service occurs on different days.

    • At this time, we will not be offering Canine Carpool services on weekends. Please be mindful of this when booking Boarding stays.

    When scheduling online, please ensure you know the following fees to avoid additional costs.

    • There is a $5 fee if you add Canine Carpool on the day of your appointment.

    • There is a $15 fee if your dog is already on the bus and you need them to return home for any reason.

      • Same-day cancellation policies still apply in addition to the fee.

    • There is a $15 fee if we cannot get your dog when we arrive at your home.

    *All of the above fees are applied per dog.

    • There is a $7 walk-in fee if you do not have a reservation.

    • There is a $12 late drop-off fee if you do not arrive before 9 am.

    • If your dog has not been picked up by 6 pm, you will incur the cost for 1 night of boarding + a $12 service fee.

    Damages To Kennels/Property

    You may be liable for any damages your dog(s) causes to the property of The Doghouse School.

    • Ex) If your dog breaks or destroys a kennel, you will incur a charge of 50% of the cost of that kennel.

BOARDING

  • SLEEPOVERS

    When our Doghouse Pupils stay overnight, they enjoy the same activities as our Daycare class.

    At the end of the day, we make sure all boarders have dinner (and medications if needed), take ample potty breaks, and get lots of hugs and kisses before being tucked into their kennels beside all of their friends.

    SCHOOL GEAR

    *Pricing includes daycare for each day of your stay. If you booked boarding tonight, daycare would be included for today.

  • You only pay for each night of boarding when you checkout online.

    • Add-on services will be charged at the time of arrival.


    *We do not accept any boarders until your balance is paid in full for your stay.

  • This year we will be introducing “Peak Seasons.” During these times of the year, we have different policies in place due to the heavy volume of appointments. Please check our 2024 Peak Season Calendar for qualifying dates.

    *Peak Season policies apply to any stay that overlaps with these times of the year.

    • For example, if only a few nights of your stay falls on a Peak Season date, the entire stay qualifies as a “Peak Season Stay” and therefore abides by these policies.

    Regular Season

    • All bookings must be made online by the client.

    • Double-check your selected dates before booking to avoid issues later on.

      • Book each night your dog sleeps over, like a hotel. Don't book the day you're leaving.

      • If you over-book, you will be credited the amount. No refunds–no exceptions.

    • Select the add-on “Boarding Daycare On Departure Day” if you plan to depart in the afternoon.

      • If you do not select this add-on and end up staying for daycare, you will be charged a $7 fee in addition to the daycare cost.

    Peak Season

    We have a strict booking policy during Peak Times. Check our 2024 Peak Season Calendar for qualifying dates.

    • Book early to secure your stay and avoid fees.

    • Book your stay at least 7 days before the start of your stay.

      • Book within 7 days and pay a $10 fee.

    • Double-check your selected dates before booking to avoid issues later on.

      • Book each night your dog sleeps over, like a hotel. Don't book the day you're leaving.

      • Cancel with at least a 7-day notice = full refund or full credit.

      • Cancel with a 4-6 day notice = 50% refund or credit.

      • Cancel with 3 days or less notice = no refund.

      • No shows = no refund + $10 fee.

    • To cancel your stay, you must email us to do so.

    • Any cancellation request done after our business hours will be considered as being received the next day.

  • Check our 2024 Peak Season Calendar for qualifying dates.

    Regular Season

    Early pickups are available during the Regular Season. If you need to pick your dog up early, please give us a call or send us an email to arrange pick-ups.

    • As long as the remaining appointments of your stay occur outside the 48-hour window, you will be refunded or credited for those remaining nights you initially planned on staying for.

    • You will also get a refund or credit for the add-on “Boarding Daycare On Departure Day” and for any other add-ons not given yet, such as an Exit Bath or Snack Bar Items.

    Peak Season

    Early pickups are available during the Peak Season. If you need to pick your dog up early, please give us a call or send us an email to arrange pick-ups.

    • You will be responsible for the entirety of the stay.

      • We do not refund the remaining nights during Peak Seasons–no matter the time of change in your stay.

    • You will also be charged for “Boarding Daycare On Departure Day” if you originally signed up for it.

    • You will not be responsible for any add-ons not given yet, such as an Exit Bath or Snack Bar Item.

      • You will be credited the amount paid to your account. No refunds.

    *Pickups must be during our regular departure hours.

    If you cannot arrive by 11 am, you may drop off between 11 am–12 pm, but you will be charged a late fee of $12.

  • Boarding Departure Windows:

    MONDAY – FRIDAY: 7 am - 9 am, 4 pm - 6 pm

    SATURDAY: 8 am - 9 am, 4 pm - 6 pm

    SUNDAY: 9 am - 11 am, 4 pm - 6 pm

    Please pick up by 9 am (11 am on Sundays) on the day of departure to avoid a $38.50 daycare charge.

    • Isn’t daycare included? Yes, daycare is included with each night of boarding. However, if you do not depart on the last day of your stay by the times listed above, it rolls into a new day of daycare, and therefore, additional costs exist. Just like a hotel!

      • For Ex: If you booked a 1-night stay on 3/12/24, daycare is included for that date–not 3/13/24.

    If you have any Cosmetology Services, we highly suggest staying for daycare on your departure day.

    • This will enable us to offer you the finest service and allow your dog to spend more time having fun with their buddies before heading home spotlessly clean.

  • Boarders are welcome to ride to and from school when sleeping over. When booking your stay online, all you need to do is select the appropriate zone under the “Add-ons” section.

  • We operate just like a hotel. All boarding stays must be booked online by the parent. Some essential questions and forms require your input to ensure your dog has a seamless, successful stay with us.

    How To Book

    1. Go online to “Book Now”

    2. Select “Boarding” > “All Sizes”

    3. Select any add-on services you want your dog to experience.

    4. Select the date of the first night of your stay.

      • If you are only staying 1 night, click “Continue” after selecting the date.

      • If you are staying more than 1 night, click “Add a Time” and select your next stay date.

      • If your sleepover falls on a holiday, please make sure you book for that holiday night.

        • We are closed to the public on all major holidays for pick-ups and drop-offs.

    5. Before proceeding, double-check you have selected the correct dates and any desired add-ons.

    6. Fill out forms.

    7. Review and Pay.

  • Vaccines

    • You must complete the online "Medication" form if your kid requires medication. We are only able to administer any form of medication if this form is filled out.

    Dress Code

    We require all students to wear a properly fitted collar + name tag when attending our services.

    Bringing Toys/Blankets/Beds

    We do not accept toys, beds, or blankets. We provide those items, as they are included in the cost of your appointment.

    Sleeping Arrangements

    Snuggle next to your buddies in your designated crate, where you can see all your friends as you fall asleep after a long day of play.

    • Siblings can request to sleep in the same kennel as long as written parent approval is given.

    • Blankets and beds are distributed as needed. However, most of our dogs find it more cozy without anything!

    Instagram Updates

    You will receive updates throughout their stay via our Instagram and Facebook stories. You may provide us with an Instagram handle to tag so that you are notified when we update.

    Boarding On A Holiday

    Our doors are closed to the public on all major holidays, but we are still running operations on-site with the kids like any other day. Please book boarding pick-up and drop-off times accordingly, knowing your pup cannot arrive or depart on these days. View our Holiday Closures here.

    Running Out Of Food

    You will be charged $6.99/day for our food, including arrival and departure day.

    Departure Day Changes & Baths

    You will be charged for an additional bath if your dog needs another one.

    Ex) It’s the day of departure, and your dog is all cleaned and ready to go home, but you decide to extend your stay.

    Damages To Kennels/Property

    You may be liable for any damages your dog(s) causes to the property of The Doghouse School.

    Ex) If your dog breaks or destroys a kennel, you will incur a charge of 50% of the cost of that kennel.

    Example: If on the day of departure you decide to extend your dogs stay with us, you will be charged for a second Exit Bath if your dog has already received this Add-On.

  • Cosmetology cancellation policies follow the policy of the type of appointment your dog is scheduled for (Boarding or Daycare) + whether it is Regular Season or Peak Season.

    • We have a strict cancellation policy during Peak Times. Check our 2024 Peak Season Calendar for qualifying dates.

    • If you would like to cancel your appointment, please email us to do so.

    *At this time, we will not be offering Canine Carpool services on weekends. Please be mindful of this when booking Boarding stays.

    • There is a $5 fee if you add Canine Carpool to your stay on the day of your appointment.

    • There is a $15 fee if your dog is already on the bus and you need them to return home for any reason.

    • Same-day cancellation policies still apply in addition to the fee.

    • There is a $15 fee if we cannot get your dog when we arrive at your home.

    *All of the above fees are applied per dog.

  • How Does The Bus Work?

    Our Magic School Bus takes the kids to and from school for boarding and daycare services.

    We price out this service based on zones broken out by the distance traveled in miles.

    If you need a ride to and from school on the same day, both trips are included in our price per zone.

    If you are taking the bus to and from school on separate days, you will incur 2x the price since these trips do not fall on the same day.

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking.

    • If you add a Snack Bar Item during your appointment, we will charge the card on file for the balance owed.

    • If you do not receive your Snack Bar Items for any reason, we will credit your account the total cost of those items.

  • All Snack Bar Items can be booked online as “Add-Ons” to your Freshman Orientation, Boarding, or Daycare appointment.

  • If you do not receive your Snack Bar Items for any reason, we will refund the total cost of those items through credit only.

  • When will my dog enjoy their treat?

    We give out Snack Bar Items to the kids during their daily 1 hour nap/lunchtime.

    What if my dog doesn’t eat it at all or only eats some?

    If this happens, we do not refund the cost of the item since it has already been distributed to your dog.

    • Take a school trip to Starbucks and scarf down a good ole classic puppaccino in our magic skewl bus!

    • Bring your besties along with you–just let us know when booking your appointment so we can plan accordingly!

    Hollywood Feed Trip $45

    • Make your #HollywoodDebut at our local Hollywood Feed! Strut the isles and pick a toy, or two, to take home as a souvenir!

    *The cost of Daycare or Boarding is not included in the price of the Party Packs listed.

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking.

  • All bookings must be made online by the client.

    All party packs must be booked 48 hours in advance.

  • Party Pack cancellation policies follow the policy of the type of appointment your dog is scheduled for (Boarding or Daycare).

    Any cancellations or changes to these appointments must be made via email. Any cancellation request done after our business hours will be considered as being received the next day.

  • Can I send my own treats or decorations?

    • You can bring your own food and decorations!

    • Please include all necessary info to pull off a GREAT PARTY when booking online.
